hi,

do the installation of patches need the database to be restarted.. or what type of patches can be installed w/o restarting the databases...

the versions may be 8i/9i/10g

For this you have to review README.TXT file.

yes..i do understand that we can get the info from readme.txt

but, in general i would like to know what type of patches doesn't require restart...
