I am in the process of testing upgrades from 8.1.7.4.1 to 10.2.0.3. I've installed the software on one of our development machines, but wanted to see if the 10.2 listener could still connect to the 8i db's. From what I read in the upgrade documentation, the 10g listener should be able to connect with the 8i db's.
I've been successful in upgrading other internal db's when both listener and db are 10.2.

I'm running 8i on a Win2K server and a 10.2 listener. I get the error message:
ORA-12518: TNS:listener could not hand off client connection
