i have installed Oracle10g Release2 on Microsoft Windows2003Enterprise Server platform. i wanted to test the functionality and environment of the Oracle Application Express (APEX). The requirement for the apex included the installation of oracle http server (available 10g companion cd). however, wen i install application server, everything runs but i could not open sql*plus and get an error message TNS: Protocol adapter Error.

I have also configured IIS and one application is hosted on it. however, after installation of Apache services, IIS can't access default port80.

I NEED HELP IN RESOLVING THESE ISSUES.

Hi,
TNS: Protocol adapter Error.
Check your Oracle Services is start or not.

On COMMAND prompt;
c:\>net start OracleService<SID>

all of my oracle services are on. With DBConsole, i can manage the database. however, in order to install APEX i need to logon using sql*plus. and it does not work
