I have following porb installing the Oracle 8i on Windows XP

The problem is : orac-12203:TNS unable to connect to destination

It would be so kind if anyone can help me or provide me the links of "how to intall Oracle 8i Personal Edition and also Orcale 8i Enterprise endition under Window XP".
Do i need to install any component on server?
I am totally new to ORACLE
I have a windows 2000 domain server and about 25 windows XP clients are connected to it.

Please help in configuring ORACLE 8i on server and client

Why are you installing 8i?
It's obsolete, and very nearly out of any support at all. Plus, a bit of digging on Metalink turned up the XP Configuration support note 161546.1, which points out that 8.1.7 server isn't certified on windows XP at all, so there's no guarantee that it will install, or that it will work properly if it does install.

If I were you, I'd use Oracle 10 R2 instead.
