Hi

We are migrating to OATM and for that we are creating new tablepsace, could anyone guide how to calculate the extend size for the new table space.

I will be going for option U(niform Extent Size) so all I need to claculate the Uniform Extent Size for the Tablespaces. so that my new tablespace can be utilised well.

Please respond ..

waiting

Puneet

If you have no idea where to start in the extent size estimate, then just use autoallocate; that is what it is for. Over time you can check out the usage and pick a uniform extent size if one shows itself to be more appropriate.

hi

i get this by one of my frd but no idea how to start

If you take the table size and divide by the uniform extent size and it should give the number of extent
s. As per your requirement , you can find out what would be best for your databa
se.If you use auto allocate instead it uses a sliding size based on the size of
the table specified.
