iam running the oracle 9.2.0.6 in hp-ux itanium, iam facing the problem, quite frequently
ORA-04031: unable to allocate 44352 bytes of shared memory ("shared pool","unknown object","hash-join subh","kllcqc:kllcqslt")

my shared pool is 200m, and by query the v$sql i see used sharable_mem is 6m and in v$sgastat i see the free space 20m, frequently i flush shared pool, but the free space unable to increase. and lot of inactive session...
and sga automatically taken 330mb and default taken shared_pool_reserved_size 10m.. any solution for this?

There was a memory leak leading up to ora-4031s.
Workaround: set

_db_handles_cached = 0

in your init and bounce the database.
