Hello,

For our test purposes we need to reformat the disk drive containing our data files including the control files, redo log files, and user-defined tablespaces.

Would it be okay to save all the files to a different disk drives then copy them back after we had reformated the disk drive?

Thanks for the help!

Mitra

Yes, it should be OK. Shutdown the database before taking the backup (file copies) and ensure you don't skip any files.

Best regards.
