I created a badly named tablespace 'tblsp1.ora'. Since it has a dot (.) in the name Oracle is unable to recognize it for either rename or drop tablespace command.
How can I get rid of this tablespace?

Try enclosing the tablespace name in double quotes - and make sure you get the case right -

"TBLSP1.ORA" (assuming it is upper case)
