hi ,

My question is very simple which is as below
[1] what is database migration?
[2] I want to shift my database from windows NT to Windows 2000 server what should i do after installing windows 2000 server?

Hi,

1) I would define Database Migration as:

Moving a database from one operating system to another (for example Solaris to Linux), or moving a database from one database technology to another (for example DB2 to Oracle).

2) Install the Oracle software and create a new database, export your old database, and import the data into the new database.
