hi

can any one tell me is it necessary to have extention of password file as .ora and secondly is it necessary that name of password file must be pwdsid.ora.. can i give other name to password file ...

Note :- password file store the password of DBA not of user

its not compulsory to give extension as .ora in windows but pwdsid is compulsory
