Hi,

Does anyone know if it is possible to have the ORACLE_HOME(product area) as read-only the reason for this is that I want to have a media server that will serve other servers as an NFS mount and I only want one area for updates to the kit.

I know there is a problem with oracle needing to write to $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/audit when connecting as sysdba but I can get around this with symbolic links. Is there anywhere else that Oracle needs to write in this kit area?.......if so, where?

Thanks,

Dave
