Hi,

I can read in my Oracle 9i R2 lesson book this:

"During startup of the instance if the sum of all the memory used by the SGA components exceeds the amount allotted by SGA_MAX_SIZE, then the value of SGA_MAX_SIZE is adjusted to meet the memory requirement."

I did thought that we couldn't allocate memory to the SGA components in a way that their sum (of these SGA memory components) will be greater than SGA_MAX_SIZE init. parameter??

Could someone explain me this?

Thank you in advance.

Best regards,

Patrick.
