Hi,
Maybe someone can help me with the following question.
We have a debate here about Oracle licensing.
We have one Sun machine (2 cpu's), which already has Oracle 9.2 installed. The licensing is taken care off, and is cpu licensing. Some people over here want to install 8.1.7 next to it (on the same machine), because then no licensing is neccessary because we use the same cpu's as the already licensed 9.2 product.
I don't believe this, but I am not sure either.
I could not find anything on the net which answers this question.
Can someone help me out?
Thanks !!

Contact your Oracle account-manager and ask him. He should know.

It would be best to contact your sales rep for confirmation. Nevertheless, as far as I understand, if those CPU's are licensed, you can run multiple copies (any version) of the licensed software on them.

Best regards.
