I have two versions of Oracle installed on two different servers... one is 9.2.0.4.0 and other is 9.2.0.1.0

When am running a query having SUBSTR its giving the desired output on 9.2.0.1.0 but the above function is not affecting the query on 9.2.0.4.0.

Please let me know how can i get a part of a string (using SUBSTR or some other function) on 9.2.0.4.0

thanking you in anticipation

Vivek

Example please.
Can't really believe substr() wouldn't work on 9204.
If it really doesn't work, file a TAR. (contact support)
