Hello There,

This is what I am trying,

Environment Settings

O7_DICTIONARY_ACCESSIBILITY=FALSE, OS user is not a part of DBA group and trying to connect to sqlplus using sys/sys as sysdba.

Windows: It's allows me to connect without any issues

UNIX: It gives me error ORA:1031 Insufficient Privileges.

Does anybody have any idea about the patch available for 8.1.7 on UNIX to resolve this issue?

What patch?, no patch to do that, you only need to configure authentication properly.

you can check on
