hello,

I am DBA working in KSA.We have oracle 9i Application server on

Windows 2000.my processor is 2.4 gh and RAM being 1GB.

The number of users being 50 to 55.The servers cpu usage is showing 100% most of the time which is resulting in the Application running very slow.i my alert log file i got a message

KTSDUMP:End of in-memory trace dump.

Can you please suggest the solution and help me oUT.

Please post the other error messages accompanying this.
Also check for any trace files in
"core_dump_dest" and user_dump_dest .

Hello Mohd, I was just browsing through and i saw your problem which i've had before. We've got 10 instances (Oracle 8i) running on a Sun Solaris Unix box. A while back we kept getting 100% CPU usage and the system kept grinding to a halt. The problem was caused because the memory was not large enough to hold all the instances and this caused disk swapping. I fixed the problem by reducing the SHARED_POOL_SIZE and DB_BLOCK_BUFFERS values in the parameter files of all the test instances. A few months later we had extra memory installed as even more instances were required on the same Unix box.
