I get this error in this situation: I have a table X in a database X that I'm accessing from database Y. I also have the dblink in database y to access this table. Do I need to grant any permissions.

Of course, unless you are trying access the data as "SYS" or "SYSTEM".
The alternative is to create synonyms for the table .
