hi all
I have two machine each with database.Both have the same service name ORCL.
Machine 1
MAchine 2
i want to export data fo machine 2 from machine 1 through the export utility.I hav tries to connect to system/manager with alias but it connect to machine 1 itself . Can any one help me out in saolving this problem.

Thanx ,but i hav already tried this it give me an errot tns:could no resolve service name.
But while i use this string in Sql prompt it connect to that perticular machine .

hi!
create a new host string for the machine2 using netmanager/net8assistant in machine1 and connect to machine2's database through that one. hope it helps u
