Intermittent TNS-12500 Errors:

Sometimes, Oracle return this error when we try to connect.

In many of those moments, there were 145-147 sessions and 148-150 processes (database parameters: Sessions=335 and processes=300).

What's a matter? why?

We have Oracle 8.1.7 run over W2k-A.S.

in 2GB.RAM Server with 2 CPUs.

Occasionally, i have observed errors in my Aplicattions like: "ORA-04030 out of process memory when trying to allocate 16896 bytes (cursor work he,kllcqas:kllsltba)"

that i donīt know if this comes from the same problem.

We have watch the database server and CPUs are working under 40% and free memory is more than 1Gb, normaly.

Can someone help me?

Thk u

Hi,
We faced the same issue in our database. Our DB server
has identical configuration like yours.
2GB RAM,2 CPUs,Oracle 8.1.7 on win2k.
First we increased memory to 4GB. but same error occured.
After a long investigation we found the problem,
Solution in "Reduce Oracle SGA". then Your PGA memory
will work properly.
Just reduce shared_pool.
More details in.

Ok, i have see the Share Pool Size and we just have 311.162.060 bytes.
We think it's a little value. Is it necesary more reduced?.
Moreover, Oracle.exe service is using 1.630.000 bytes.
