i am receiving this error, whenever i start my system (window 2000 pf) and try to log on to oracle 8i:
ERROR:
ORA-01034:ORACLE NOT AVAILABLE.

the TNS listener in the services is started already, but the oracle service OracleServiceAIMS is still in starting state. I have to stop ORACLE.EXE process in the taskmanager to restart the service and use oracle. can u please help me in getting out of this routine.

Hi,

After starting the system check the alert log file there you will get the exact cause of this.

Upload the contents of alert log so that we can proceed.
