are oracle datafiles in binary format or in an ascii format ?

which mode are they normally ftp'ed inorder to create clone databases or standby databases

hi

datafiles are always in binary format. for ftp purpose ftp it in binary format only

how about the redo log files, the archive log files etc. what format are they in
