Experts ,

when I startup the oracle 9i database,

SQL> startup

Oracle instance started.

ORA-12500: TNS listener failed to start a dedicated server process.

& When I try second time,

SQL> startup

ORA-01041: internal error. hostdef extension does not exist.

hi

at first shutdown the database

then

use at sqlprompt sql > startup force
after that shutdown normal
and then startup
