Hi,

Reading from docs. I found the maximum available memory for an oracle instance in WINTEL platform is 4Gigs. i.e. /3GB switch to increase from 2GB to 3GB and /PAE and using the parameter use_indirect_buffer=True. The default extra memory is 1Gig.

My server has 8Gb ram and I am planning to create two instances.

1) 3.5 gig - DB Buffer = 2.75G Log Buffer = 30M, Shared pool = 220M and 500M for PGA.

2) 3gig - DB Buffer = 2.25G; Log Buffer = 30M; Shared pool = 220M. 500M for PGA.

Since the second instance is within the 3gig mark I am not planning to specify the indirect buffer option. pls. tell me if my understanding is correct. Will I get 330 connections if the sort-area-size is 1.5M?

Thanks in advance,Talei.
