Hi -

Is it possible to migrate directly from V8.1.7.4 to 10g.  We have several small databases running on HP Tru64 V5.1a.

Thanks

It is possible to migrate from oracle 8,8i to 10g.
according to me migration issues must be fairly
simple and implementation time may be short.

Hi Missy ,

Oracle databases can be ported to a lower version or a higher version using the EXP/IMP utility.I think since you are jumping 2 steps up (from 8 to 10)
you need a temporary 9 version to make you hop.

just export the database into a 9i and import the same into 10g .for this job i think you can use the free trial version too but seek legal advice .

there could be other tools like work bench too in oracle 10g that help you migrate.

with best wishes
