Oradim is a utility that creates the services in Windows. Are you looking for dbstartup and dbshutdown shell scripts?

Anish:

You are right oradim.exe is in Windows. Actually I am more concerned with an issue of oracle database not starting up (it can mount).
Whenever I open the database it hangs.
How should I go about

At first you must so see your init.ora file for detecting a reason, which cause problem.

As the oradim.exe extension suggests, this is a Windows program. It's not available for Linux, since the Linux doesn't have services. No need to create them.

Scripts for Oracle startup/shutdown scripts on Linux could be found here:

Automatic Startup and Shutdown of Oracle on Linux

Shell script for startup Oracle 9i on Linux
