Plz help me understand the concept of Archivelogs in Oracle data recovery.

Archivelogs are copies of the redo logs. The copy is made at log switch time and is used to keep track of ALL changes to the database structure and data. Using these archive logs, the changes can be reapplied to a restored copy of the database to bring it back up to date.
